Why Integrate Technology into the Curriculum?
There's a place for tech in every classroom.
Technology is ubiquitous, touching almost every part of our lives, our communities, our homes. Yet most schools lag far behind when it comes to integrating technology into classroom learning. Many are just beginning to explore the true potential tech offers for teaching and learning. Properly used, technology will help students acquire the skills they need to survive in a complex, highly technological knowledge-based economy.
Integrating technology into classroom instruction means more than teaching basic computer skills and software programs in a separate computer class. Effective tech integration must happen across the curriculum in ways that research shows deepen and enhance the learning process. In particular, it must support four key components of learning: active engagement, participation in groups, frequent interaction and feedback, and connection to real-world experts. Effective technology integration is achieved when the use of technology is routine and transparent and when technology supports curricular goals.

Blog: Inventor Training Addendum: Placing Features on Cylindrical Shapes
IMAGINiT's Manufacturing Solutions Blogger, Mark Flayler, shares his insight on Autodesk's manufacturing software including Inventor, Mechanical Desktop and Mechanical. In this month's newsletter, Mark shares an excerpt of his blog:
Occasionally I get requests for streamlined training material that is not part of our normal training program. This one comes from Introduction to Solid Modeling students wanting to do more with cylindrical features but not finding their obvious choice in the feature commands. This paper will streamline the different work flows discussed in our intro training classes.

Blog: Digital Cites
IMAGINiT's Geospatial Blogger, Warren Medernach, shares his insight on geospatial solutions and is highly skilled in developing techniques for bridging the CAD / GIS gap. In this month's newsletter, Warren shares an excerpt of his blog:
"Digital Cities": the a new buzz phrase that has been gaining a lot of momentum over the last couple of years or so. From the Autodesk perspective, we saw hints of these merging technologies way back at AU 2007, with a flashy video demonstration on the main stage. This topic was even more prevalent at last years AU with the announcements of: Salzburg, Austria becoming the first pilot project city for the Digital Cities Initiative last summer, and Incheon, Korea becoming the second city to sign on in November, just prior to AU.
The above announcements are not new, but a little closer home, it was announced earlier this year that Vancouver would soon join Salzburg, and Incheon in this initiative as well.
So, what is a 'Digital City', and what is this initiative all about?
